Meet The Team

Joanne Hands

Joanne has spent over 10 years working in the property development and construction industry. From research and analysis to design, approvals through to delivery. She has project managed over 100 small developments including granny flats, single builds, dual occupancies, triplex sites and subdivision. She is a licensed Buyers Agent, a member of HIA and WIBAS, Women in Building and Associated Services. Joanne’s passion is helping clients reach their financial goals, her highest priority is the safety of their hard earned income.

She is in the process of learning to surf, re-learning to snowboard, and recently she snowshoed up the Remarkables.

Karen Signorio

Admin & Marketing

Karen managed several Desktop Publishing departments for investment banks in London. Upon her return to Sydney she did the same for a Management Consultancy Group. Now she splits her time between raising her family and running her own business doing admin and marketing for several companies.

Karen is passionate about fostering rescue dogs and had fostered quite a few until Daisy came along and wouldn’t leave her side. That’s what is called a foster fail. Now she has a menagerie of four legged furry friends as part of her family.

How It All Began

Leaving home at 19 with a few hundred dollars in her pocket Joanne travelled the world for the next 10 years. Often arriving in a new country without knowing anyone, with nowhere to live, no work, and sometimes not speaking the language. This taught her resilience, innovation, problem solving and most importantly showed her the value of connecting with others to share the journey.

Her passion for property, a desire to live a life of adventure and make a positive impact on other people’s lives lead her into property development. She could see this is where you could make the biggest leaps to financial freedom using creative strategies instead of the purchase and pray strategy.

So she started Symbion Property.

Over the past 10 years Joanne has helped over 100 clients build their property portfolio and take the steps that bring them closer to their goals whether that is to spend more time with their young children…. We have had a few clients give birth during the construction.

Or head off to fight for our country… a few clients were deployed during construction, one to Afghanistan.

Or start their long-awaited bucket list… just this year we had clients traveling on the Orient Express and another hiking the majestic Machu Pichu.

While communication can be tricky in a war zone or deep in the Amazon jungle our clients knew their project was in safe hands back at home.
